CURRENT AND PREVIOUS CLIENTS AND RANGE OF WORKSHOP TOPICS
Since setting up LIPSYNC SCOTLAND in February 2008, I have worked with some talented writers in a wide variety of settings. I have offered coaching workshops to several organisations including West Dunbartonshire Council, Kibble School, The West End Festival, Headway Glasgow, Partick Annexe Healthy Living Centre, Momentum Scotland, The Autism Resource Centre, Artform, Council for Voluntary Services (North Lanarkshire)and Values Into Action Scotland.
CREATIVE WRITING SERVICES
Whether clients are private or corporate, adults or children, accomplished writers or people who have never written creatively before, my focus is always on supporting the individual's ability and talent to produce his or her best work. Some of this work is of a standard that could respectably be submitted for publication. In other situations, people are simply looking for time, space and support to express themselves through writing which they have only ever intended for a private readership.
SPECIAL NEEDS AND OLDER CLIENTS
With this client group I help service users, who may have complex communication difficulties, to express themselves. This may be through creative writing for emotional expression, personal development or confidence building;compilation of graphic storyboards to relate personal memories; reminiscence therapy through storytelling or writing; or by designing Essential Lifestyles Support Plans. My services can assist organisations meet The Care Commission's standards, by acting as an independent facillitator for service users involved in Registration or Inspection processes. I meet with individuals, families and organisations to design programmes around their clients specific requirements.
FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS:
CORPORATE TRAINING
I am currently developing a range of workshops based on creating a workplace culture where positive and creative thinking are maximised to the benefit of the employee and employer.
CLASSES OPEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC
I offer creative writing workshops which are open to the public, throughout the year and details of times, venues and costs will be available on the website. The purpose of these is to provide the opportunity for writers who are looking for workshops to kickstart or develop their writing, to come along and get a few ideas, produce short written pieces in the workshop, have their writing reviewed by peers, contribute to critical reviews of fellow writers, and to do all this in a supportive environment conducive to writing.
